By accessing or using ChoreGami ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including family administrators, parents, and children using the family account.

2. Description of Service

ChoreGami is a family chore management and organization platform that allows families to:

• Create and assign chores to family members
• Track chore completion and manage rewards
• Coordinate family schedules and activities
• Communicate within the family unit
• Store family data securely in the cloud

The Service is provided on a subscription basis with different plan tiers offering varying features and family size limits.

3. User Accounts and Family Requirements

3.1 Account Creation

To use ChoreGami, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3.2 Family Account Requirements

• Primary account holder must be 18 years or older
• Only one family account per household
• Family members must be related by blood, marriage, or legal guardianship
• Children under 13 require parental consent (COPPA compliance)

3.3 Parental Responsibilities

Parents are responsible for monitoring their children's use of the Service and ensuring appropriate content. By adding children to your family account, you represent that you have the legal authority to do so.

4. Subscription Terms and Billing

• Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis
• You authorize automatic charging of your selected payment method
• New users receive a 1-month free trial (credit card required)
• All fees are non-refundable except as required by law

• Cancel anytime through your account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• Pro-rated refunds available for annual plans within 30 days of purchase
• EU customers have a 14-day right of withdrawal

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You may use ChoreGami only for personal, family organization purposes. The Service is designed for household family units and should not be used for commercial purposes.

5.2 Prohibited Activities

• Using the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Sharing accounts with non-family members
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Uploading harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Interfering with the proper functioning of the Service
• Using the Service to harass or harm others

5.3 Content Guidelines

All content created within the Service (chore descriptions, notes, messages) must be appropriate for all family members, including children. We reserve the right to remove inappropriate content.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Service Ownership

ChoreGami and all related intellectual property rights are owned by us. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your family's personal use.

7.2 User Content

You retain ownership of content you create in the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

8. Service Availability and Modifications

8.1 Service Availability

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

8.2 Service Modifications

We may modify, update, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes that affect your use of the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE.

10. Dispute Resolution

10.1 Informal Resolution

Before initiating formal proceedings, please contact us at legal@choregami.app to resolve disputes informally. We commit to responding within 30 days.

10.2 Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of JAMS (Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services) in the state of our headquarters.

10.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that disputes will be resolved individually and not as part of a class action or collective proceeding.

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and deleting your account through the Service settings.

11.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees, or if we discontinue the Service. We will provide 30 days' notice when possible.

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease, and your data will be deleted according to our data retention policy outlined in our Privacy Policy.

12. General Provisions
